it my understanding that you want the SE8600 to go to Occupied when it looses communication with the MPM. So whatever you are doing in the MPM is useless to the SE8600 when it is not communicating...

you can have the MPM change the value of one of the LUA parameters, lets say every 10 minutes

then put a lua program in the SE8600 to switch to Occupied if this parameters has not changed after 10...
