Over here our refrigeration pipe is as an example:-

7/8" pipe
R22 pipe = 0.91 mm wall
R410A pipe = 1.40 mm wall
...

But I thought that the major reason for replacing your refrigeration pipework when converting from R22 to R410A refrigerant was because the cu pipe used for R22...

You might want to try ACETONE which is a cleaning solvent.

Here in Australia R22 pipe has a thinner wall than 410A. R22 pipe is considered insufficient in coping with the much higher pressures of 410A refrigerant. Potential problems!

What is the ramifications of installing a heat pump condensing unit with a piston type chatiff (spelling?) LCD or perhaps something electronic eg....

On reverse cycle (heating) the refrigerant should not be going thru the TX valve at the air handler. Are you sure the system is on heating?
