We really considered Florida. I was even offered a teaching job there...but after a lot of careful research and talking with some friends that are teachers there we decided against it.

Having a state income tax doesn't bother us...remember...we are from Illinois...the state where they tax you for everything and you get nothing in return for it...unless you live in Chicago!
