I'm thinking Makita will be my choice.
have all done me very great service over the years :)
I've had bad experiences with a Ridgid regular 18V Li-Ion drill bought for home use, including warranty service issues. On a good note, I have a good Guinea pig for a battery cell rebuild and brush replacement for when my good tools crap out. With that being said, their hand tools are awesome and I'd recommend them to anyone.
I have an 18v Ridgid that I bought 7 years ago and still going with one new battery change, I also have a brand new 18v Hilti that is a beast and still brand new in the box (got it free from my bro in law:grin2:), I'm waiting for the Ridgid to croak before I start using the Hilti.
I like my dewalt drills, I have both the 18V XRP hammer drill and the 18v compact drill. I'd like to try Hilti but just cant bring myself to spending 400 on a drill.
For those of you who use Dewalt 18 volt in my area Homedepot and Lows are clearing XRP batteries out at $99 for two batteries. Offer is also available on the web.
I used to be against DeWalt but i like their 20v li-ion, I used a 14.4v Makita for years and it still works good but it is my garage drill now
i have a 18v makita they good but life of battery is a bit short to me and new battery price killing me, i ve seen a guy actually fixing dead batteries on youtube but i m not sure i can do that (due to laziness)
