2 stage not needed because
I think a 2 stage furnace is not needed because I'm considering a heatpump.
HPguru: yes... I'm no longer looking at just the lowest bidder. I want the company to be there and respond if I have problems.
Currently the top place, not only in price, but in terms of the "bid" process is:
Glazar Bro's (Trane)
The following are in no particular order:
Calvert (good sales guy - supposed to get their quote for Trane/York tomorrow)
D&T (supposed to get their quote for American Standard tomorrow) - Its a small company with 3 people but he had some of the best suggestions. Such as some minimal duct work (adding some louvered returns closer to the floor) that he could do that would greatly reduce the temperature differential in the basement and in the main Living room which has 10 or 11 ft ceilings. No one else even bothered to think these through.
AirFlow (Payne) - one of the lower bids
Would Oliver still be interested in throwing their hat in the ring? pl. give me a call 302-345-9444 I'm making a decision this weekend.
Thanks a lot for your help!
