They were doing interviews from the astrodome asking the people there about the conditions there. This girl that is being interviewed said that all they have here is sandwhiches to eat , she said " I'm tired of sandwhiches, they need to get us some real food here"

That seems to be the way alot of the younger americans are, if you buy them a pair of blue jeans they ask why you didnt buy them designer blue jeans.
Leave it to the "media" to highlight the complaints, and the exceptions to the norm. It is just the way they do program content for news. Might be nice to hear the compliments & remarks from those who are grateful, and I believe that there are many.
These people would ***** no matter what you did for them or gave them.
And I suppose in their current predictament they should be thinking all sunshine and flowers? Give me a break, the media is highlighting this because they know it causes controversy...and guys like you feed on it.

Let's see, we are gonna stick too many people inside of a large round container, leave them in there too long, and create some atmospheric distubance outside the container to frighten them and then see the results.
1. After awhile basic human behavior will happen.
2. Health conditions will deteriorate when the plumbing breaks down and waste piles up.
3. The longer the period of idleness the more agitated the subjects become.
4. Once removed from the experiment subjects will first remember the bad experiences and will tend to foucs primarily on those.
5. The same results happen with any race of people.
6. The subjects are very hesistant to repeat the experiment and more willing to evacuate prior to disasters.
I've said it before, if a dirty bomb explodes in a major city and radiation fallout is immense, we are in a world of **** if NO is an example. I hope those in charge are taking notes about the problems generated by hurricanes and their aftermath cause there may be a lot of similarities.
It's gonna be WW3 in their before too long.

You know, this pisses me off. You guys need to show some compassion. How would you fare under the conditions? Their lives have changed and they have little control over it. Can you imagine trying to sleep in there. Who's gonna wash their clothes? Who's gonna educate their kids? They've lost everything but the clothes on their backs, and you guys are hammering them
That's all I can say. I'm speechless. Give these people a break.

I do have compassion. I think the whole aftermath of this disaster is appalling. That don't mean I have to sit and cry about their suffering all day.
I just heard last nite that those waiting for extraction from the dome:
Could not leave their place in line or they would lose it so:
They urinated where they stood (for hours and hours into days)
One man, stayed in line while his sister (?) had a miscarriage. He wouldn't leave and let others attend her.
I wasn't there, I don't know the truth of the stories I hear, but I do know that disasters bring out the worst and the best in people. Given the chance, we as human beings find out that deep inside of us is something we don't always want to see.
Many stories will come out of this disaster, not all pretty. But there will be a common thread in them.
I have compassion for the relief workers, the Armed Services, and the officials who will be constantly criticized for some mistakes. They will get my compassion also because they did perform one hell of an effort within five days. How many did it take to mobilize what we saw in day five?
Compassion for a woman crying about milk for her baby? She looked like she was barely 30 and had five kids under 8 years old. No compassion there. She should have been neutered after the second one.

Well said? Would it make a difference if this person was white? Middle or upper class? And had five kids? What if she was a lawyer? A doctor? What difference does it make that she was barely 30 and had 5 kids? Here and now, what difference does it make?Quote:

Maybe she was perfectly able to support these kids before she lost everything. Or are you assuming she was a welfare mom? People like you and I are in that Astrodome too. People that had good jobs - and 5 kids. And now they have nothing.
Katrina didn't know class. Everyone in its path was affected.
My compassion doesn't know race, religion or class.
