Here's another one. In the late 60s my first job was "shoe shine boy" at a barber shop.
The how long was the first thing you heard from someone showing up. My job was "shine your shoes while you wait". Worked on tips and the barber always had a few bucks for me. A $30 dollar day at 10 years old in 1968 tax free, anybody know what that would be today? Of course I always new how long the shine would take.
