temp of heat source and temp of heat sink in absolute [R] or [K].
You can apply these temps to the Carnott expression, but the results are very idealized (read: way never gona happen). Using saturation temps for Th and Tc is more useful, but still dreaming. The COP and SCOP are useful for comparison and benchmarking.
If you dig math and details, rock on. Most people in HVAC quote the hell of it w/o knowing much more than big number is better, tell HO, sell up.
BTW, it is very optimistic to expect ARI COP in any real installation.
