Can cleaning a 20 year old blower cause any problems?
In my experience disassembling and re assembling any machine more than a few years old carries the risk that one or more components my not return to their previous state of function.
depending on the circumstances after you clean the blower wheel you could throw it out of balance!:(

We clean them on most blower motor change outs. It is extremely important to check the balance after doing so. The rotating assembly may need replaced. The cleaning may result in lost of balance. We have found leaving the parts dirty also has balance issues as well. Clogged or dirty blowers do not provide the rated airflow witch is also causes a problem.:rolleyes:
I highly recommend you have a service person preform this. ;)
Depends how it was cleaned. Cleaning it correctly should cause none.
Yes it can.
Seen one or 2 where the unit was over sized, and after cleaning the blower, the humidity went up.
