What may be a reasonable labor price in one area, may be very high, or very low in another.
There are a few other things not covered by the warranty also. Possibly shipping, filter drier(s), solder materials, fittings (copper/pvc), refrigerant and equipment to perform the work come to mine.
For ten thousand dollars I could have a tech there this weekend to do it, of course payment must be made in advance.
I might even tag along as a much needed vacation.
Sould have bought a good home owners warranty and it would be all covered.

If you're thinking paying them $15/hr or something, then it isn't going to happen. Specifically to a dollar amount hard to tell. But for 2 coils or 1, at least a few bills. No matter what part of the country. You have to figure them spending at least half a day, depending on how and where they are located. 1 or 2 guys and the owner has to make some money, pay for the $4 gas to get there, plus miscellaneous materials, put insurance on his truck and his company, as well as health insurance for employees, retirement, etc... Uncle Sam also likes to make a little money as well as any state or sales taxes applicable to your area. Couple that with the rising cost of refrigerant and hopefully you get the idea.
