Both indoor and outdoor units are definitely 3 ton units, I checked them myself. The HVAC company changed the indoor unit from medium to high fan speed because one side of the house was cold. Maybe I should turn it back down to medium and play with the dampers instead.

Was the Manual J presented as part of the contract?
If yes, put in the right equipment.
If no, put in the right equipment.
I'd use the lower number. Airports tend to be out in the open and at a higher elevation. Unless you on a top of the hill and exposed to the sun, you'll be cooler most of the time.
