wow. he was also the commander of the invasion of Grenada.
Far too young, too. He was a grad of my academy, before going to West Point.
The tight-lipped nature of this report makes me wonder what killed him.

Shame he is gone... he was one of the good guys.
I hadn't heard that, very sad.
That is sad....I met him twice in my military career....he was a big man physically and didn't really like the "Stormin Norman" nick name...most of the troops under his command nicknamed him "The Bear"....He was one tough General and did not play the political game after he retired.
I liked him because he couldn't stand Colon Powell.

Colin Powell was not a military general... he was a political general.
I remember during the Congressional hearings (televised) to approve invading Iraq after 911... it did not take a rocket scientist to look at Powell and see he was lieing through his teeth.
After thought... it became obvious why it was televised... not to inform... rather to create public opinion.
