The second half of the article doen't support your assertion.

I think there were about a half dozen explanations from the white house on that banner..... which says something in itself.

Probably not Bush actually suggesting the banner..... but it was one of his minions.....

Also... and you guys can google this if you want.....Im in a hurry right now...... but didnt Rummy say, after Bush was out of office, that he actually edited and cleaned up the Bush speech given that day and he removed any references to "mission accomplished" from the speech....

I will agree that it wasnt the shrub though...... these guys dont write their own speeches..... its their staff that comes up with the one liners and the banners and all the other junk...
