Looks like we may have been misled about how many members of the Hostess workforce are union members. The article I based the 30% on only mentioned the Bakers union. It looks like more than one union is involved in Hostesses labor issues;http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascit...buyer-for.htmlQuote:
Hostess has about 18,500 employees; roughly 7,000 are represented by the Teamsters, and about 5,300 are represented by the BCTGM.
Just more manipulation of information from the lamestream media.
The Teamsters made concessions if I remember correctly. They didn't strike. The BCTGM on the other hand......
How does walmart figure into this? I know I didnt mention them.
Im not saying the teamsters didnt support the strike. But apparently some of them did show up for work. So much for solidarity. And I really dont care what walmart does. As a corporation it can make decisions as it sees fit.
I'm thinking that union workers are not as loyal to unions as in the past. Why should they be?
It will be interesting to see if other private companies with organized labor will be doing similar things in the near future. Unfortunately, it will take an act of Congress...literally...to get organized labor out of government.
