Walk-in Deer Cooler
My buddy has a 8x8 walk in that he built and i hooked up some little cooler for him. It has a new compressor with receiver. i used r-401a(mp29) for refrigerant.
There are no controls on it. Here's some info i have on this thing.
model; c-0300c serial; dra 5404
sporlan txv; R-12, ff-1/2-c
evap range; +20* - +55*
i believe the valve is wrong for the unit. i cannot tell what btu this thing is.
heres my readings;
sh; 40, sc; 11
slt; 81* llt; 106*
37.6psi / 185psi
ra; 65* sa; 55*
entering condenser air; 88*
any ideal what valve i need for it?
am i on the right track?
A little 1/3 hp compressor on 8X8 WALK iN? Is that big enough?
something wrong here.... the 1/3 may well be fine if the door opens seldom..... struggling with the numbers right now.. gonna have another crown and coke and I may see the light
i have no idea. it's a little room my friend built to hang his deer in while its still hot out. its very well insulated and sealed. we got this thing from some fruit stand he worked at. i dont know much about refrigeration
also i dont know if this helps but the condenser sits on top of the box. the lines are about 6' total and 3/8" suction 1/4" liquid.
i pulled a slow deep vacuum on everything and installed a 052 drier with a sightglass.
You got a 1/2 hp valve! Wait for Ice meister to respond!!!:grin2:
hmm....that means it should be hunting not starving.
because the valve is r-12 and im using r-401a do i need to change the valve?
I'd wait until somebody can size your evap up. Icemeister usually's the one to tell you if your sizing is ok. That's why i mentioned him above. Or call the parts house and ask!!
Is that a 2 fan evaporator?
If it is I'm guessing its rated around 8-9k btu
U will need at least a 1 horse power condensing unit
1 fan with a 1/40hp motor.
i would say the dimensions are 24" wide 20" tall and 10" deep
R401a is Mp39 and its a replacement for R12
What temp are you trying to maintain
i know this. just didnt know how the valve would respond. i havent compared p/t charts. are they about the same?
