Voter ID, why Democrats don't want it

However, I believe you are very wrong about illegal immigrants voting. Immigrants who have broken U.S. laws by entering and living in the U.S. are being so bolstered and emboldened by leftists in the Democratic Party that they are more willing to expose themselves because they believe the Democrats will give them all amnesty as long as Democrats get elected.

I can only reference Texas more specifically Houston/Harris county. Back in the last presidential election the one previous there was a fair amount of voter fraud on the Democrats side I do not remember the specifics. I do remember that Hispanic voters had nothing to with it and even the conservative talk show host have said in Texas illegal aliens are not a problem. The have mentioned numerous times the deterrent to them of losing any chance at citizenship. It makes sense that losing the potential for citizenship is a powerful deterrent.

I will however concede the possibly that with Obama in power they may feel emboldened.

If you can come to this country illegally and work for years like nothing ever happened, why wouldn't you feel like you could get away with anything? I know what my attitude would be. It would be, "These Americans are so utterly stupid. What do they care if I vote?" Aren't Latinos now the majority population in our wonderful state?

Obviously you believe that you can think like someone who is committing a crime by their very existance in the U.S. and feel that such persons will continue to commit more crimes....I can not.

You continue to make very valid reasons why even more efforts need to be made for voters to prove they are who they claim to be along with very good arguments for why we need to be less tolerant of illegal immigrants living in the U.S.

It is also interesting that, since we are from different "states", you must be referring to the entire U.S. now as a single "State"....as in a Federal State of Socialism.

Now this is interesting, while the Democrats are claiming that Americans needing to prove who they are in order to vote will somehow prevent Americans who are being responsible enough to vote but not responsible enough to be able to prove who they are from voting, the Obama administration is not complying with it's own laws that are designed to allow American military personnel and other Americans living overseas from voting;

Robo, you got this nailed right on the money!! The dems could not make it more obvious as to their agenda on the issue of fair voting. They wipe out an entire sector of conservative voters while pandering to those who will vote for more social welfare and they are not afraid to do whatever it takes to get the most votes in their favor while eliminating the legal vote of others.

How you use the words in that link to twist that into a Dem conspiracy is amazing. I guess to be a right winger you must be able to see the unseeable. Kinda like the loopholes that the R&R team proposes to close after the big tax cut that will cut the deficit. No one else can see them except the "chosen ones"

Robin I am not making a case either way and BTW I stand four square and adamant that we need photo ID and even stronger requirements to prove voter eligibility. Right now you can register to vote by mail with no proof of citizenship.

What I stated was even the most conservative political pundits around here have consistently said we have voter fraud it generally not by Hispanics voters and the reason they do not vote is the possibility of legal American citizenship is a greater concern than voting.

I refer to Texas only because I do not keep up that closely with other areas and do not wish to speak on behalf of an area I am not familiar with.

The amount of illegal...and I mean votes that were not legal and not votes by illegals..... in the last presidential election was infinitesimal........ voter fraud is very rare and in a federal elections....hell...even in local elections.....the illegal votes....and Im not condoning them under any circumstances......wouldnt affect the outcome one bit.

I am not against showing your id at the polls...... I just hope that the oldsters that dont have a current photo id.......and there are a lot of elderly who dont possess one..... are given some help in meeting the requirement.

But still.... the truth of the matter is that voter fraud is not a big problem as the pugs like to make us think it is.....and if it was there would be some real evidence out there.....convictions....court cases.....etc...... evidence that could be verified......

What are you babbling about? It is the Obama administration that is not doing what is needed to be done in order for American's working overseas and American military personnel to vote. Obama's administration is the Democrat Party. What are you confused about?

I'm not arguing how voter fraud is commited in specific areas, just that voter fraud is now easier to commit since Obama's rule in the White House. I am wondering how you can say that illegal immigrants are not going to be factor in voter fraud when there is no precident for how illegal immigrants are going to act since Obama has given them so much more leiniency for being in the U.S.

Whether it is dead Texans or illegal Mexicans voting, it needs to be stopped, or at least be more difficult to do.

No new neck-tie avatars? I am disappointed. But the squirrel avatars are always a sure hit. I have no idea what the T stands for, probably some lame emblem for some young idiots that throw balls back and forth rather than pursuing a job path. And wasting their parents retirement money while doing so. And not paying taxes. And not working.
