Yes ma'am, I'm not saying that anything will go wrong, but when things go caboom, you know who to call to clean up the mess (assuming you're still alive and capable of using your telephone) ;)

My boss got started snagging a couple of customers from his employer. Commercial accounts.
14 years later and much richer he's never regretted it.
Been dealing with that kind of stuff for years. Job security, but gets overwhelming when customers request me only on a constant basis or I am sent after 4 techs and the customer is pissed. It gets tiresome trying to cover the tracks of absolute failure but you have to do it or you need to make the decision to stay or leave, because if you don't there wont be any work there anyway. The lack of talent and commitment is unreal these days from owners, supervisors to techs.
As a son of an owner I agree 100% with this. All experience I have with other sons of owners is negative. They do not want to work, much less work hard and do it right. I have been lucky to have been raised with a good work ethic and a father who always held me to higher standards than any of his other employees. The best way to get respect is to lead by example and hold yourself to a higher standard than anyone else.
The company I work for the father passed down to son, he had 3 brothers work for him, they made him money while he was skiing and boozing. When he sobered up he decided to try and run the company, well he pissed his brothers off and bankrupt the company. It went from 60 employees down to now 2 in the field and 3 in the office (which makes no sense).
I just put a dual mini split in two weeks ago, I don't know how they got it to clip on bottom with the lines hanging out lol, mine looked a little different in the end too lol.
Keep your head up and look toward the future. I hate were I work but with every other company having guys laid off in screwed too.
any signs of nepotism at a company and i want out! i've seen it WAAAYYYyyyy to many times in my career and am smarter with age. 97% of the time its bad news. i've actually asked owners/managers if family members work at the company during job interviews and if they do whats their position at the company. luckily i work at a family/friend free company now
I see these pics and think of the lack of common sense. These techs need to know that liquid cannot be compressed. Do work pay attention to your meters, check your indoor coils for restrictions clean them etc...
After looking at the pictures, I felt a little better about the "tech's" I had working under me before I left to start my own business.

If it were just shoddy work, it would be bad enough. Some of those pose a genuine hazard to the customers' safety. I would get out as fast as I can for my own interest. When something goes horribly wrong, you won't want your name mixed up with this bunch. The longer you stay, the more likely you are to be accused of negligence even after you're gone. As for taking customers with you, I wouldn't do it while still on his payroll, but if you pass some cards around after you move on, all's fair in an open marketplace.
