it is technically hermetically sealed, the motor is sealed away from environment.. those u see is just surface rust...

Technicly i believe that perticular model is open drive.. So no motor, ive worked on a few that were directly coupled to small 3 cyl diesels on commercial fishing boats... Marine stuff is a whole different world, cool, but dirty

But ya just Surface rust, u should get the core back... Nothn a good sandblast and hot tank wont fix

never work on any marine stuffs. I'm in land locked sw ontario.

Your not missing much fun, im outa that now but it was cool, ran those 06s up to multiple 5h80s down to 9" hg suction runnin 507 on extuded alum evaps for plate freezing, cool stuff, sharty work, lotsa crazy travel (float planes and stuff)

I'm in the gulf of Mexico.... So a lot of offshore platform work.

Platform work wouldnt be too bad, commercial fish boats suck :gah:

Well we do a ton of platform work. We also do a ton of ships all around the world.

Just paint it green and it will be fine........oh, use Rustoleum.
