Does anyone know how to calculate the cost for a gal of chilled water?
Well I'm thinkin' that would depend on what chiller you're using??? Different machines will have a different kw per ton rating. If you knew the kw per ton and the size of the chiller, you should be able to do a bunch of reverse math and get a guesstimit of the cost per gallon.
actually, you need to figure all power including pumps and cooling tower, then do the math. lets say a total central plant might be 1.3 kw/ton these days, and you are using 2.2 gpm/ton. you can now get to the math. unless you really want a good number, then you need to figure costs for winter work, repairs, and depreciation, as well as operations.
