How are the rest you faring with your own MBK 6?
I just filled my MBK 6 from REHVAC with dry co2 for the first time for my next install.

Been thinking about either the MBK6 or just a small 2.5 or 5# tank, just bought the adapter to use my nitro regulator on Co2 tanks.
Are you using it as a purge gas and to pressure test new systems hvaclover?
I think johnstone has it on sale for like 179.00 or something like that right now.
That MBK-6 looks usefull, except, I was doing some reading on the web the other night. It was an article about leak testing from some manufacture or product company can't remember for sure, but they made a serious statement against using co2 for pressure/leak testing. They didn't say why...... just said "don't ever do it"!
Any one know why ?
Rick
co2 is not an inert gas. combined with moisture it makes carbonic acid. Not for use in refrigeration systems. Looks like it's made for clearing condensate drains. Hope Installers aren't using it to purge systems but from these posts it sounds like they are. You might as well use compressed air.
When I sold parts, I used to laugh at that thing. Then a few techs told me how great it was. I love mine so much, I think I am going to buy a 2nd one at the Johnstone sale.
It's not compressed air. If you'd study more before accusing you'd know that.
There are plenty of threads on BONE DRY CO2.
It is not soda fountain CO like you buy from your supplier, it is pure..processed to the the degree it is dry and safe to use ...FYI...back in the day CO2 was the only braze purge around....I buy mine in 65# tanks.
