Dual circuit over lapping condensers
Hi,
I have 2 Trane TTA150B4 condensing units (non heat pump). Each has 2 compressors with two independent refrigerant circuits. The wrap around condensers overlap each other. Both of these units have head pressure problems. I've never been able to get the head pressure down into spec per the manual.
I have:
Cleaned the condensers with condenser coil cleaner numerous times.
Recovered the charges, evacuated and weighed in new charges.
I spoke with the site engineering supervisor a little while ago about this and he told me that Trane has told him that the only way to clean these condensers is to pull them apart in order to access the area between the single pass coils.
Pulling apart the dead end of the coil in order to bend it far enough to get between the coils seems like a real bad idea to me. These coils already have a tendency to crack at the header. I've repaired 2 leaks this year alone.
Has anybody had experience with this type of over lapping condenser coil system. If I can't resolve it I will reccomend replacing both units but I'd like to make sure I've tried everything before I go that far.
Thank you for your help.
