Hey everyone.
Been a long time since I have bene on the site. I got injured on the job over 8 months ago(watch your hands). I can go back to my same company working light commercial. Tommorow, I do have an interview with my neighbors son who owns a Residential company that is doing very well. I was an apprentice, I still am I guess you could say. He has lots of maintenance contracts which keeps his company busy right now, and thats what I was doing for the company I was previously/currently working for. My only problem is after being out of work for so long, it's hard to remember a lot of information. Has anyone else been in a situation like this? Or, even if you are a seasoned technician being out of work for a long period, did you find yourself with a loss of info? Look forward to being back on the sight, and learning more from everyone, and looking forward to getting back to work. As I stated earlier, watch your hands, and be safe.

Hell I can't remember what I did yesterday.............I think.

I've been out of the field for 6 long years and now considering jumping back in and yes I'm a little nervous about the dust that may have settled but like Tex said it's like riding a bike.
Now that we've encouraged you what did you do to hurt yourself? We like those stories.

Im glad to hear it's like riding a bike. I am not sure if I am going ot an interview, or the guy just wants to see where the hell I am in education before he hires me. He said he would like to sit down and talk with me for an hour. He says What I was doing before is what he is looking for now. He says he would send me for more training, but then again my company now said that too when they hired me. That was a joke. Then my manager acted like he didn't know that the owners son wouldn't allow money to go for training. When I have a new job, Im gonna start talking some fowl language about the current company, until then, what a great company for hiring me. Haha.

I wouldn't burn bridges. They have a way of coming back at you.

I can`t remember my own name sometimes.

Just got home from my interview. Seemed to go very well. They really seem like they are going to hire me up. They seem really true to their word about getting my good training, and wanting me to become a real asset to their company. I hate how people can act like they really want to take you on, but put on sort of a poker attitude about it.
About burning bridges, I think my current company has already burnt their bridges to me. And this company seems to have some jobs that my current company has setup. And it seems that my company now has shown their quality of work, that needs to be taken care of by another. My current company I must say is full of HACKS! I mean, when the guys that you support for their supposed good work can not even figure out that a blower is spinning the wrong way. They call me up, I tell them to look and see if the blower is going the right way, and they can not even determine that with a sticker with an arrow showing the proper direction of rotation, you have to wonder.
My company now did give me a good oppurtunity, which I do beleive is in my favor for this new job. Although, they are a very poor company to work for, and they do a lot of bad work. How they get more work, I do not know. But, I am going to end with, how can you burn bridges with a company that treats you like dirt, and will except any ability of work no matter how bad that work is. I understand some people feel someone has stuck around with the for a long time, so you keep them on. But, if that persons quality of work is not as good as someone as new to the feild as I am, why keep them. Im not a business owner, but Im sure call backs are a loss for a company. And not getting to your loyal customers(service contracts) to take care of poor work being done by others is not do any good for a company either.
I got injured working for this company. Lost a little peice of myself and will never be 100% again because of this. While it is not really their fault, how they have treated me before and after the injury they have burnt the bridge to me. Lied to me to get me to join. Not allowing me to do my best work that I can do. Not helping me learn. And allowing me to see how poor of a company they are. These things in a way show me that I do not even want a bridge to them. In a way I am sorry they were my doorway into the company. This company I had an interview at, even if people do not need to stock their trucks, they still come into work early in the morning just to say "hi" to each other, rather then going from their homes straight to their jobs. They are doing very well in the area, have set a good name for themselves. And they do this all within an 8 mile radius, and have plenty of work to stay busy. They have essentially no turnover. That is a bridge if I get the job, I would never burn. I hope to gte hired, and make this company my job until I am old enough to retire.
Do I talk to much or what?
