More bad news for workers at Vermont Castings.
The company has shut down its plants in Bethel and Randolph until May. About 150 employees are effected by that move. That is nearly the entire workforce.
Some have been temporarily laid off since February.
The stove maker says sales are down and it has to sell off some of its inventory before the workers come back. The company will continue paying its share of health insurance premiums until the plant reopens. Then the workers will be asked to pay it back.
Was a dealer for several years. Then Majco was sold to CFM and shortly after they purchased Vermont Castings (late 90's I believe) that's when it really got bad.
I became a Heat & Glo platium dealer and been happy ever since
I bet there is a teachers union that wishes they never heard of CFM.
Hearthman seems to have been around the block and appears to know what he is talking about. I will be paying attention to his posts and replies as I will learn from him. It's good to have you available.
