I will post pics as soon as the new wheel gets here and we reassemble it.

Kind of strange that they want the wheel changed for no good reason. But when customer makes their mind up it sometimes you gotta say okay sure thanks and mark it up.
Why the wall of shame looks like a better wall of pride candidate if all goes well.

The customer wanted to change it out because we are changing bearings and shaft. It was totally their call, we suggested reusing the old one.

The bearing and shaft I see bad in the pic, but I'm curious about the blower wheel. What's wrong with that? Did it hit the sides when the bearing failed?

Nice job. The short shaft and narrow wheel a big plus when access is limited. We have a guy in our area who thought it would be a good idea to disassemble a cooling tower on top of a 20 story bank. Destroyed the 14'x5" shaft before giving any thought to getting a new one up there. Oopsy.

Yeah, the elevators are self leveling, its weird when you get it out and the elevator rises 8".

Are you going to bring the new wheel up on the elevator?

    A little blower wheel changeout....

This blower assembly supplies fresh air to all of the air handlers in a 38 story building in downtown, we are replacing wheel, shaft, and bearings and cleaning up the inlet cone. This unit is on the 38th floor so replacing the whole thing is a no go.
