The company I used to work for would save all their scrap metal then cash it in to pay for the Company Christmas party. One year that got us a trip to the Kansas Speedway. We raced NASCAR cars for 10 laps then later that night had dinner at the nicest restaurant in town.

This year my current employer got me a membership in the Jelly of the Month Club. As my cousin Eddie says "it's the gift that keeps on giving, Clark."

I have been with the company for a year now, the bonus was 50.00 and one kick a** party at the hilton.

I just started out with this company but I heard Back in Nov that the bonus last year was about $500. Yeah, that didn't happen this year. But, our GF was able to slip in an extra OT day, which he knew was basically going to be a slack off day.

In these hard times you just gotta be grateful for what you get, and how you got it.

Last year was a weeks pay, this year $300 which was more than every other field man. Boss is keeping us busy but his bids are not what they used to be. He's keeping us employed.

Thank you and yes we are very happy they treat us well and we treat them well. 3 guys and we have 600,000 sq ft of space that is about 85% occupied, so we work or off and at least they take notice to that.

If you enjoyed Atlas Shrugged and have not read Rand's earlier novel, The Fountainhead, you owe it to yourself to read it. The Fountainhead hits on a lot of the Socialist tactics we see happening today. The story line revolves around an eccentric, Frank Lloyd Wright type of architect and a newspaper mogul, both being attacked by a very clever and subtle Socialist force. It really lets you understand how Socialists get what they want by making others think they are getting something for nothing.

I feel that being employed by someone has to be more than a "business transaction". Meaning the employee is being paid for services rendered. The same as if you went to walmart and bought something. In order for a business to be truely successful the technicians need to be very happy. A happy technician cares more about his work. rather than a christmas bonus I would prefer if my company fix my van when things break down in a timely manner. not until the tires almost corded did I got a new tires... and that bad bearing whine at the pass front better be fixed... but, all in all, I'm thankful for what I've got.

oh, I cold use a new extension ladder with wheels at the end. the one I have now is cracked at the top and sun washed. and tool allowance would be nice.

I'm just wondering if it will ever dawn on him....or her....that when bad things happen to business owners, it equates to bad things happenning to all of the workers depending on those business owners to have the courage, understanding and daily drive to keep on keeping on even when the economy and government are fighting against them?

Laws are made because a very few abuse the workers. (not that either is right, but it happens) Now business has developed the attitude of "us VS them". Somehow feeling superior and "special" compared to the lowly pleebs. Dividing us into smaller fractions.

Do we not have the right to pursue our own level of happiness? If one is content enough to live in near poverty because one does not care to work too hard, does that person not have the right to their poverty? And if another wants to pursue more material goods then what poverty level provides, should they not have the right to pursue that level of happiness by being more valuable?
