New 410 system. Yes both suctions are 1-3/8. Install is this weekend. I ordered 5/8 for both systems.

Could it be a mistake in the spec. Is the suction also 1-3/8" for both? It doesn't make sense either way.
It is possible that they are concerned about the velocity and proper oil return.
I have a piping chart which is in Excel format. I will try to convert it and upload next post. If you want I can email it maybe.

Weird.. Im currently doin 3 10ton carriers, and according to there sizing chart they want 1/2" which to me seemed small, but i talked to carrier and they said 1/2, so i went with it. Im assuming this is 410

I think I'm going to just run 5/8 on both systems. Total line length is maybe 30'...

    New install question..

We're installing 2 new Trane split heat pumps. Twe090d 7-1/2 and twe120d 10 ton with matching indoor ahu's. I'm reading the install manual and noticed that Trane recommends 5/8 liquid for the 7-1/2 and 1/2" for the 10 ton. I can't see why they'd want a larger liquid line on the smaller capacity unit. Any thoughts??? TIA Fitz
