People who do that, want to feel bigger and more powerful than they can ever be. So they think it's funny to bring others down.

They usually get what they have coming.

If it cost you a job R-12, maybe it's fate. A better job may be waiting for you down the road.

    To R12 rules

Fooling with your resume is a dirty deal. Don't worry about your age. I'm 68 and still get job offers. As long as you have experience and confidence in your abilities you'll find employers who are interested.

I think he is really looking for a fudge packer. [/B]
Yeah, the old "Steers and Queers" concept.

If he doesn't have horns, run.

At first, I didnt believe what I was hearing. I never thought someone would just make a few changes, add a few experiences and let it go.

But when I looked and saw some changes .... I began to think: "aw #$%!" And THEN I saw that part about what I suposedly did for experience in California.... Fudge Packer... hmmmmm

    It got worse from there.

Anyway ... I got some laughs too.

(not on the same day, of course)

The guy asked if I worked on markets. I said sure. Then I explained I was not a "market-man" per se. But whatever he's got for clientel, I can learn their equipment.
Sure I've worked in markets. But not 1/10th the stuff Dow & Dave do everyday.

I am trying to stay where it's sunny, but not too humid. Rain is okay unless it's 9 mos out of the year. And as far as snow is concerned, I'd just as soon see very little of it. Some if okay, but no 12 foot snow drifts and NO ICE STORMS!!!

My wife was raised in Monroe LA. I would love to be over there so as to be near family.

Thanks again for y'all helping me with locating a position.
Side work is okay for awhile.... but that was over awhile ago ...

But that joke could have some serious implications on a personal level for R12 and it's not near as funny when your the guy that had it done to them. I am a huge pratical jokester, but theres a place and time for it. This resume is being sent to potential employers, and right now, with out any screwing around R12 needs a job.

    Real smart.. Real funny..

I for one am trying to help out R12 by passing his name around to colleagues. I would hope that every one here can understand that he has a wife and kids to look after and needs a job soon. Any one of you may find yourself in a situation much like he is in later on in life. Moved away, has some good experience, but now is older. Now out of his element, in a new place, needs a good paying job, economy has had a huge impact on our industry and things although improving are still not the gang busters they were a few short years ago. So he is sitting here, killing himslef to go on these job interveiws all over get out. Contractors have a difficult time seeing past the age part. It does play into many contractors decisions beleive me.

Just no need for the jokes. It's a serious matter and one I hope gets resolved soon. R12 has been a great contributor here and has a lot to offer in wisdom.

I was not here, if I did it I would tell ya.
All right. We've all gotten together and appointed a commission to look into this. The results will be televised live on CNN.

Dice, you're being asked to appear to testify about crimes against nature. You will be asked by the makeup dept. to use some blackout to give the appearance of a gap between your front teeth.

Jack's getting served with a subpoena today as well. He will be given a suitable head covering to conceal cranial appendages.

Thanks Dow.... one the serious side here.. I have been getting this "complex" like; once you pass a certain number of years either in age or trade experience, you are no longer employable to the average small service contractor.

One outfit I interviewed with out of Houston had the service manager making less than what I was requesting for salary. (he said I wanted 80K)
So when I never heard back from them, I assumed they got someone else to fill the position.
It turned out that the manager had lied to his boss about what I was requesting for salary and the boss never considered me.
    But that's just one.

I get a little agressive about my work and sharing ideas when I start with a new service manager. But I never expect to take his job from him. I dont want to "run the show", I just want to be part of the ops.
If I found another person like me, I'd even consider going back into contracting! At least I'd know what to expect when I hired someone who was fifty and has demonstrated where there areas of strengths are. A young person today has the whole field open to them. It takes time to see where they will do their most excellant work in. I already know where I will excell in.
But try telling that to a perspective employer. Especially if they are younger than yourself or they are only a manager, and not an owner.

Oh, on the humorous side; to the pranksters here on this forum, I admit we all need a good alugh from time to time. And I would nto have posted the question; "Who Done It?", if I was concerned about the replies that would soon be flying around here.

Seriously, I dont know who was responsible. Ed has not a mean bone in his head. (heart?) So I dont really blame him.
And ,yes, I do know what fuge packing is about. I lived in that state many years. Although that term is not a common one. Even amongst the queer set.

Your all a great bunch here. And I dont mind some humor. It turned out pretty funny afterall.

If anyone wants to see a brief copy of my resume, they can go to the thread for jobs. It's listed in my post over there.
(I changed my log in name so it wont be hacked so easily next time)
