You're good to go.

you only need an externally equalized valve if you have a pressure drop greater than a 2º SST drop across the evaporators.

Which would be caused by a large evaporator or a distributor nozzle.

I went with Al Bundy's advice, installed the internal, brazed over the external connection. SH was at 8 to 10F. Box cooled down in a short time. The evap had two feeders.

If there is a refrigerant distributor you should be using an eternally equalized valve.

Yep I mis typed I think I had two and they work the same. They would work better if they went with sporlan

With that small of evap
You should be fine with internal.

I've converted cap tube unit several times
With internal txv
No problem.

Dang....and all these years, I thought that if the TXV fed directly into a single circuit evaporator, it didn't need an external equalizer.....and that if it had distributor tubes it needed one....

Had the same sent out. They must have done away with the internal one. Also the new ones don't have the discharge sensor on the discharge line. It is mounted on the liquid line.

I see that part # in the pdf. I definitely have a part 325-60080-27, clear as day on the power head.
I guess I am calling Traulsen on Mon to confirm no changes have been made.

How do you guys find all of these manuals here on HVAC Talk? I spend a lot of time googling this stuff to no avail.

Take another look at that part #. It should be 325-60080-00.

TXV for Trualsen reach in cooler

I ordered a new TXV for a Traulsen model G21010, R134A 2 door reach in cooler. The original in the unit has a external equalizer connection, 1/8" swt. I believe I saw two feeder tubes on the outlet side of the TXV.

My question, my parts supplier sent me the new TXV but it is an internally equalized valve. I just today realized so haven't called the supplier to double check the part but could it be this is an updated part and the external equalizer line unnecessary?
