    Almost forgot -

The charge on the smaller machines is critical, so get some short short gauges with a valve. Sometimes when you put a hose on a machine to check it, the charge gets off and it never acts the same until you recover and weigh in again.

There is not much you can do to service a flaker except for adding the recommended amount of ice machine cleaner, cleaning the bin and chute. Anything else is big $$ for labor, and often the customer will just get a new machine. I believe the scotsman manual has a list of what tools are needed to break apart a flaker machine. The best tool I ever had for ice machines is a good screw holding screwdriver, and that Milwaukee right angle driver that they sell at Home Depot. There is not a lot of room for putting the screws back in when you disassemble for cleaning and repair.

I only do cubers. Never worked on a flaker.

I'm lost. No idea what you mean by an auger.

Cleaning solution, bucket, brushes & garden hose and/or good spray bottle.

I use brushes I bought at supply house typically used for boiler cleaning. Obviously, my brushes are dedicated to ice machines. But the units I have been cleaning are extremely moldy, I have to dismantle, clean & reassemble.

I mean breaking down augers and cleaning and servicing all types of ice machines. What are the tools you would recommend getting?

By servicing, do you mean "cleaning" an ice machine?
