Sloppy Joes. I thought you were posting about the bar in Key West!
My favorite: caramelize 1/4 cup chopped onion in the pan. throw in a couple of tablespoons of finely chopped green bell pepper. Brown a pound of ground beef with the onion and pepper. Add enough ketchup to make it look like sloppy joe. Add about 1/4 cup sugar. Yes, 1/4 cup. Add about a teaspoon of white vinegar and simmer till it's thick enough. Make sure each sloppy joe gets a slice of american cheese to melt on top of the mix.
when I was little I use to just use burger and kechup. simple and good ........ when ever I tell anyone that they say ..... thats no sloppy joe
Sloppy Joes I figured I would share one of my favorite and simple recipes...Sloppy Joes. Brown up a pound of ground beef. (more if you need it) Drain grease from pan and put meat back in pan Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar for EACH pound of meat. Then pour ketchup on top till it looks like sloppy joes... stir Then add whatever seasoning you like... I put nothing on mine but you might like other things Here is the important part... turn heat way down, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring a few times When I made this for the first time from a buddies recipe, I was like at first "blah, just plain sloppy joes" then after an hour of cooking the flavor really came out... or I was real hungry by then! Good luck Enno
