If you want a good basic Maytag tall tub, The MDBH950 is Under $400, and has a $30 rebate. A friend of mine has it and they are happy with it.

I rent, and I have a Whirlpool, It does a OK job of cleaning. but no flex w/ loading.. I HATE the silveware basket in the door. It only clean half of them since only one side is getting sprayed on.

Before I moved here, I had a portable Maytag that I grew up, it was 20 years old, still worked like new when I sold it, and me or my parent never put a penny into for parts.

My parents re did the kitchen, and had a Maytag built in installed (gave me the portable), and had that for 6 years, not a penny into that either.

I totaly agree about the Frigdaire D/W they do NOT clean. Another friend has it in his townhome he brought and he is ready to take it out. He has to remove and clean the filter, and they also cycle the lower and upper arm back and forth.

I've had customer come in and says they are getting rid of the Bosh, too $$$ to replace parts, and also they say it take weeks to get parts for them (Guess they come over sea?)

O boy, the oven. Mine turns the oven on to get it hot cause she`s going to cook something. She puts the clove you use to pick up hot stuff with in the oven & forgets it.
Clove cooked to the bottom of oven.It took her 3 days to get the oven clean.I told her to just play with the microwave only,i`ts safer.

One day mine actually decided to cook something. I touched the oven and it was hot!!

I opened it up and asked her what was in it. She said "angelhair pasta". I said "Oh I thought them was cobwebs."

Hip replacement? Wouldn't it be cheaper just to take her for a long long ride down a deserted road and drop her off.

    Appliance man here

    Mercury---Ford---Lincoln

    Roper---Whirlpool---Kitchen Aid

    Maycor--Maytag---Jennair

    Bosch=expensive and timely repairs

Good buy is upper line Whirlpool
Better but is upper line Maytag

Stay away from Jennair and Kitchen Aid as all you are doing is paying for the name. Stay away from Roper and Maycor as you are paying for test products and scale down models. Stay far far far away from GE and Frigidaire products as they are just pure Sh1t.
Most reliable and quietest will be Maytag but will cost a little more than Whirlpool. If your looking to spend 450-550 you'll be ok.

I worked on few DW mostly KA.....I like bosch but think they are over priced but they have a stainless tub.Bosch usally has a problem with CB, Bad solder connections or broken finger board. On my third DW now, its a GE, wife hates it, says it doesnt clean very well. She said the best we had was the kenmore(maytag?)

Look into fridgadare customers seem to happy with them.

fisher and paykal are nice and fancy but the installtion is critical.

I still say wife is best dishwasher. No electrical circuits to mal function,& at her age very few moving parts. Some times though i do have to jump start her.

That was my next question. Which brand is good for each type of appliance. I myself don't know but maybe these appliance guys can chime in.

    Kitchenaid is reasonable and reliable.
Maytag makes a good washing machine though.

Kitchenaid is Whirlpool's Caddy, not a bad choice. I hate bosch, they are a bitch to work on, but a very good DW. Don't buy Frigidaire anything, ask any appliance tech they will tell you that Frigidaire is the worst. Ge is ok. Maytag is way over rated
