I think too:
the Mini forum must include the consoles and small horizontals with 2 or 4 runs, etc
P-Tacs
and heat-recovery
for HW heating to be all inclusive in est buys... if one uses HWater that can be heated from a/c systems and heat pumps, etc.
b/c the HW systems are a part of the tax crediting for qualified buyers

I've had many experiences with Daikin in the past, they are very standard and normal air conditioner units for the price they go at. You should take a look at other brands that are affordable but come with high specs. Stay away from companies that are not North American, they can be made in china but make sure it's a North American company that has been in the business for years so you don't have a part problem in the future.

Example: Mr. Slim, Senville, Goodman

a) you don't have a word on KLIMAIRE, eh? And their flair fitting are just fine for the first 3 I have seen popped in place by the consumer.

b) TFE plumbers pipe dope is OK ? or just admitting never tried over lock-leak-stoppersused for refrigeration flairs, as it properly has beentaught how.

c) A large OEM switched tech services to using some TFE pipe sealers very thinly and neatly, for flexibility and seal and it works...

I do not understand what you do not understand until the generalizing becomes specific.

Daikin has been in the market for years, special thanks to them! I've been installing them as a contractor for years now.

Yep every one I read is hard to follow and makes very little sense... I don't think he's from around here.

The posts in question, to me, do not read very well... I doubt I would hire someone that talked like that to even do my yard. Seriously not professional.
And the attitude... well that is why he is on ignore... the attitude.

Many geothermal-hp consoles with a single Energy-Star(tm) sized [performance contract guaranteed] loops outside, a ground loop large enough--- consoles have more and less to offer over mini's; horizontal closet units; 3-Sided corner- standing consoles 2- 5 compressor tons (size 6's) and more.

They also have HW heat recovery in small to large-instant on demand and operate 100% in cooling and some in heating modes- sharing BTUhs, then.

zoning the refrigerant inseries off of the fancoil HVAC section in a cabinet-ed GHP --- there is a sharing with the blower, reducing fan use to allow for Chilled and HW to zone- off the system to mini-like split fan-coil locations WITHOUT purchasing additional Water:water chiller/heater GHP's.

That feature works well in some comm apps WITHOUT Geo-T loops at all, allowing (horizontal too) "GHP" to just distribute heat-recovery to HW preheating while a space need cool/DeHum or reversing to pull heat from some space, then distribute heat for some other reason/ radiant high-mass and low, or Air distribution, etc.

Yes, Daiken bought Goodman. Be interesting to see what changes happen to Goodman products.

Someone said they expect to see Daiken compressors in them. I believe Daiken makes refrigerants; if they make R-410 units will probably be supplied with Daiken freon in them.

did they buy goodman?

Daikin is in the top 3 in quality.......and price.

I've worked with more of their VRV systems than the mini splits. The only issues have been installation induced.
