Equipment: Noland co.(Ruud)is about 1/2 mile away. I can't believe some of you have to drive 75+ miles for parts,I hope you are billing this time out!

we have supply houses no more than 6 miles from anywhere that we go out to. the bad part is we don't have accounts at most of them so we end up driving 15 miles or more to get parts. we have about 8 in my town

about 15mins any direction to a parts place 'round here.

thats michaels, united, ferguson, northeastern, anyone...we're located in baltimore, so if it can come in by boat train, road or plane, we can get to it in 20 minutes. lmao

Some of you guys ned to get out of the sticks. 2 under 2 miles from the shop. Then we have Trane, Lennox, Johnson, Johnstone, Airparts, Comfort, American distributors, and what ever else you could want about 10 - 15 due south of our office. Another 10 - 15 you got every refrigeration company in Dallas.

    Sounds alot like Austin traffic.

But I'm with Popa Dice. Quite a few good ones all over the city.
    Nice selection.

Man I thought I had it bad here in Connecticut! We have 2 good supply houses in Groton that sell air conditioning parts. That's it. We cover all of southeastern connecticut, so if we are on the other side of the conty, we have to go all the way to groton to get something. It pisses me off. Every time I have to go out of the way like that I think back to the days when I lived in Kansas, when all of our work was in one town. If we needed something, we drove to the closest supply house, and if they didn't have it, we drove to the other one on the other side of town. I will never know why it can't be that way here.

A lot of times now if I need something and I'm on the other side of the county, I will just tell the customer that we have to order the part, we will be back in 1-2 days. Then I call the office, who calls the supply house, who delivers it to the shop, and then we go install it.

A lot faster when you have lots of work ahead of you than driving all over the place. The bad thing is, if the 2 supply houses in groton don't have what we need, we have to yet still order it from another supply house somewhere in an0other part of the state.

We have one wholesaler here. The other ones are 450 miles away as the crow flies, longer by boat.
