Personally I would not want to work on those chillers for fear of getting them dirty , are there hospital over booties and white gloves for the techs to work on them ?? Do the techs have to put on white spray booth suits and wear masks for fear of contaminating them . !!
Paint is cheap and obviously Impresses people. Nice looking plant, but first thing I noticed was, the non Manufacture recommended external oil filter installation (by the way it's not painted). See how paint covers many sins. Hahaha
Did you get that Graham, they are the only ones that know how to use can of spray paint.

That is a good looken chiller room.
They even piped in the auxiliary oil filters. That has to be one of the nicer plants, I've seen to have machines that old.

Hey the machine looks nice. Insul is tight and paint looks good. That is the "motor drain down" line. Drains refrigerant from the motor shell back to the low side pressure.
square flange is oil drain. the insulated round one is motor cooling suction line. There is a check valve in the flange.
It has been a while since I had one apart but if not mistaken the line with the square flange is the oil drain and the round flange is the ref. drain line.
19dk I have been studying our chillers just trying to learn as much as I can, that goes for all the equipment we have but after reading (more than once) my startup, operation, and maintenance instructions for our 19dk chillers I still can not figure exactly what the purpose of these lines are. any info plus whatever else you know about carrier 19dk chillers would be appreciated.Attachment 345791Attachment 345801
