Looks nice. With Steve on the part of the algae. If you plan on keeping with the flexable drain it'll start looking ugly after a while. You could use a colored hose.

Not an optical illusion. Though I did notice it is higher in the middle than on the ends, that was fixed the next day. I should've taken a finished picture, it looked much better.

I really wish I would've used Duct Sox, that would've been neat.

I know the too low=too busy. I am rarely the low bidder. I was the middle (of 3) bid in the install shown.

I just had to show at least one thing I've done here, I felt left out . Sometime I'll put one on the Wall-of-Pride, but only one that is worthy of it.

If there are no codes, then that makes it even better for the customer. Because now, you are free to uphold the highest standards of the industry. In other words, you can gleen from others areas and incorperate the best from everywhere.

I feel like I am leaning towards the critical here, so I will simply bow out.

You took time out of your obviously busy day to take some pictures, run them onto the Net and display them here for us to view.

And you never invited critiqueing. So I will not critique your project.

And as if I'm not busy enough, people keep calling me to do construction jobs on the side even though they know I gave it up. I gave it up for a reason people . Although, I did take 3 jobs including replacing a door which I took care of tonight. Another I took was puting siding, a roof and a new door on a garage for a nice little 'ol lady, though I had to warn her that it would be a weekend ONLY thing and may take a few weekends.
I have to say, I do still miss construction a bit so why not....who needs free time .

    Thanks for the picture site.

And Steve, codes, we ain't got no stinkin' codes

Yes, there are vents in it today. It works great and DOES drain water just fine, even with the return 100% plugged off it can't pull the water in. Everything including insulating the lines was all buttoned up today too.

As far as the supports, they are much stronger than they look. I hung from them and shook them around before we even tried putting it up there.

I'm not too worried about anyone pulling on the lines, it is a fitness room for teachers and older folks. I did tell the other guy how to run the lineset and makeit look pretty, I was a bit disapointed that he didn't listen and did it that way.

The pictures of the River are of the Skunk River in Washington County, Iowa. There is much worse flooding just north of us.

igi I'm not trying to be negative here but I would find a way to support the air handler lengthwise instead of crosswise.

The drain material does not conform to the IMC, not sure which code book you are using. Those lines will be gunked up with alge from the light going through in short order.

Don't forget to go back and insulate the suction line where it exits the air handler.

Again not trying to criticize just trying to give you some suggestions. Keep up the good work.

IGI, yyou'll like this, it's easy and free!

install looks good. I would go with copper drain lines mounted VERY securely. Those plasic lines dangling down so low are just begging to be tugged on.

Glad to hear you're so bust, we're still waiting for the heat here in Chicagoland.

The secondary is experimental for me anyhow........
There is going to be a VERY expensive treadmill just under that unit and they wanted me to make sure there is NO possibility of it getting wet. I will fill the pan with water while the unit is running and prime the traps (both lines are trapped). I will then make sure it drains properly out of both drains....that's why there is nothing on the bottom of the unit yet, so I can fill the pan. Trust me, we will hold to our standard of quality and I won't leave until it is perfect .
I will even plug 2/3rds of the return air coming in to simulate a dirty filter causing a stronger suction on the water in the drains.

We have been working 12 to 14 hours a day trying to keep up while maintaining our quality standard. The phone keeps ringing and we just press on. I have 8 estimate requests that I have no idea how I'll ever have time to get to and the bad part, we haven't even hit busy season here yet. We finally hired another guy today, well the boss's son. He is a sophmore in college mastering in Aerospace engineering, so he's just temporary. When my brother gets back from Iraq he is going to be our next tech.
Until then we'll press on, it's kind of fun really. I got to get out and help on an install. We worked 14 hours, really kicked some butt. We have 3 hours or so to finish up on it tommorrow, not including the 50 mile drive.
    Sorry about the big pics.

It is in a high school fitness room, now they'll have to work out wice as hard to work up a good sweat

While I was at it I thought I'd throw in a pic I took of the nice Iowa flooding as I drove by. This is usually a nice small river, usually about 4 foot deep with sandbars. Now, it stretches for almost mile wide like this.
