I like my Megger MIT 410EN. I had an Intellipack doing the same thing and found the bearings in the blower motor had become magnetized and were drawing in particulates causing an intermittent ground fault. Had to replace the motor on that one.

I use the fluke 1587(i believe that's the correct model number) it's a meggar/meter combo. Love it. Found plenty of nuisance problems, and i use it when my reg meter takes a plunge.

Fluke 87 V is a great meter and has a meg ohm function however it is not a true Megger or equal to Biddle/Megger

date of manufacture code is after the 'H'...11th week, 2007. the affected ribbon cable date codes were 46th week, 2006 (467) to 20th week, 2007 (207)

you will need Danfoss part number: 175Z1821, 2 per drive. you should be able to go through trane to get them. reference TR1-SVA01-EN

obviously, please check for a grounded motor or motor wires first as new ribbon cables will not fix that.

Possibly Could Be Excessive Moisture Getting In PeCkerhead Of Your Motor,Verify Your Airflow,And Temperatures Maybe seal The Peckerhead Cover, Have Seen Moisture Cause This Problem Many times

Scratch that...AMB45 is the model and it is 650 bucks at Graingers.

I am not a fan of the 'megger in a meter' idea, but I also admit that I have never used one before either. The amprobe one I got at Graingers was about 500 if I remember correctly. If you want to really get into megging, then you want one that at least has a timer feature and not all of the flukes have that feature. I meg motors and compressors using the 1 minute/10 minute method whose name escapes me at the moment.

what model fluke are you referring too? I see there are a couple of fluke meters that are multimeters with the megger function built in. I know I was looking at two different models one was about 450.oo the other was like 600.00 is something like that any good?

Don't buy the supco toys! I personally love my amprobe amb1. Fluke makes 1 that is better but costs about double.

just curious what type of megger do you use? people mention the supco but id rather buy a quality tool once and know I can trust what its saying especially if im condemming a large motor!!!

I spoke with another guy and he did tell me one time he replaced the ribbon cable for the same model about 10 months ago it was giving the same fault ever since then its still running but I thought maybe he was throwing something at me. that could be the problem. nameplate on the drive trane m#tr16016gt4cn1strodlf00aooco S#033032h117

I had a drive a little while ago that took a bath in water then started hoeing a ground fault. Did everything you just did then replaced the drive, and it's all good now. Did you not have a megger on you?

Meg your motor, check wiring for weak insulation. Could also be coming from ground issues outside of the unit. Last resort would be to disable the alarm but not recommended.
