this is funny. i think this all the time. especially this week. i have been installing a packaged unit on my restaurant and am not good with duct design yet. years ago i would have just slapped it together and it would have worked fine. now i struggle because i know too much but yet not enough, not even close.

Reading this thread, I don't mean this in a negative way but the best thing you could do is has been stated above about membership as well as having some real on the job training and apprenticeship. From your posts you really have some things you should learn before you even hook gauges up on another unit.

You can learn a lot on this forum with pro membership but it's still no substitute for studying the trade books and having somebody to mentor/apprentice you. Good luck.

Think I overcharged it am going back to check on the unit it has a small leak. What should my super heat be on r22?
Your required superheat is going to depend on the indoor wb and the outdoor db, usually somewhere between 12-20

Are you sure you are on the temp screen (T1,T2) and not the other screens that calculate SH/SC , saturation temp or the input for target SH

Try swapping the probes to see if the problem is the probe or the head.
