Hey guys, I took my first training seminar two weeks ago in Raleigh and we spent most of the time doing load calcs and duct sizing which only accounts for 30% of practical test from manual n and j and also spent considerable time in the 2012 mech codes. But when discussing the Business Law portion of test the instructor was adamant in saying over and over, just read and memorize then do it again? THAT'S THREE BOOKS!! Does anyone have any pointers on how to study for something like this? Because I have spent one week (5hrs a night) in the business management book alone

Ive been in the field since I was 17 (31 now) minus 8yrs in the Marine Corps. Served three tours and to be honest I am just as nervous about taking this exam before leaving for my second and third tour!! Feels crazy to feel like that but its true. I was hoping that maybe some of your guys could throw some encouragement and pointers my way. I have already purchased the calculater btw!!!

The license is just the beginning...

Congrats! But, now you have to get General Commercial Libility Insurance, Commercial Vehicle Insurance, and customers.

Oh, and don't make any mistakes! Customers are strange characters, some know it all and will gladly tell you and others know nothing except you are charging too much. Your first "call back" will be totaly unrelated to your initial call, but try to tell the home owner that.

Long days, hot days, mean dogs, wasps, strange things in crawl spaces, attics that aren't tall enough, and worst of all from the HO: "Thanks for getting it going, I get paid Friday, can you come by and collect then?"

    Have fun!

Congratulations on your license! Is the spph elect, the partial electrical license so you can wire up your own equipment. It would be nice not to have to worry about getting or having the HO get another electrical contractor just for a change out!

@ Trey... Darn right on the H-2! First things first though SPPH elec. Which, hopefully will go smooth like butter. Any words on SPPH would be appreciated (hard, easy, anything?). As for the H-2, will I have to retake business law or is that waved? Thanks again guys for the words of wisdom, it all helped!
