I get what you are saying Dave, my only concern is why would he post something on the web for everyone to see when he isnt sure about what he is doing yet? One of the most important qualities for any tech is to know when to say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i give, and get some help.
It doesnt look like he even went to someone who knew what was going on before he posted his video.
In a nut shell hes not very bright, just my opinion, i didnt say he wasnt likable or didnt have a bit of go get em, he just didnt do a bit of homework besides the pricing and even that was low for a real set of gages.

I say the kid has potential. If I were in Indiana, I'd track him down. Guys like him don't piss me off. It's the actual tradesmen who are regularly featuerd in this section that get me. Guys that have training, experience, and still are a hazard.

Plus, he could also be trainable in sales.

Kid's got heart. More than any of us can say about a whole bunch of kids his age nowadays. Some of you old-timers in his area oughta look him up, take him under your wing.
Dave, are you serious? If this mook is clueless enough to post something like this on youtube he has no idea what he doesnt know. This guy in a service vehicle = death and destruction ,because hes obviously as smart as he is ever going to get.
Im waiting for his how to be an engineer video.

I have seen all I need to, and only 4 1/2 mins in to it....

1- he put the low side hose on backwards.
2- about 4:20 take a look at the sideways view of the venting. Instant w/h vented along with probably a furnace looks pretty small for the BTU load, and is the a single wall wye with b-vent on both sides (is it a DIY ya think?)

sometimes it's a good thing to have DIY'ers out there cause they will pay us to fix it right, but this guy just looks dangerous. I guess the only hope is if he ever get's the idea of a wanting a vasectomy, then wants to try it himself......

The best part is the advice that he is giving to people in his comment section.

"The yellow line is just for reclaiming the refridgerant in the system already or for putting refridgerant in the system.

Aside from that, when your just checking the pressure it has no use. Just make sure its capped off or running to something. Otherwise when you open your valves on the gauge it'll just come out the yellow line and vent to the atmosphere."

I like how he says its hard to screw up a gauge set. As people that use them everyday in our work, I bet you all agree. Every set out there is perfect. Right? RIGHT?
