I looked and thought the obvious, DID you ask the local Trane rep?? i mean if your going to replace an old Trane damper with a new Trane damper are you buying from a Trane rep or some crack whore in the back alley? I worked on that system some time ago and i change out a new with an old and it was fine. Not sure what model you have, a little more info would help. But my advice is check with the local dealer they would know best...

Maybe a little more than FOUR posts on the board and MAYBE someone would be more than welcome to share their experience from 19 years ago when they where installing that rev of equipment......just saying!!!

Thread relocated to the "CONTROLS" section of the site where questions such as this stand a much greater chance of being answered

Hey Facmgr01, if I was one of those viewers and didn't reply, my apologies. I once was familiar with the old Comfort Manager, over 15 years ago. I have never seen its replacement. The Trane office I worked for at the time made the decision to place VAV products in the domain of the controls guys about that time, and I was a service tech. You may get better results posting this question in a Controls forum on this site. Seems to me that is where most VAV discussions are. Especially VAV controls. Good luck.

    Trane Varitrac dampers

I have a 10 zone Trane Varitrac system with the old (1993) Comfort Manager controller. I know the panel is obsolete, but still works. My question is, if I have to replace dampers, will the new Varitrac dampers work with the old Comfort Manager controller?
