No way I'd let my family go across I4 during a holiday weekend. That road is bad enough during a regular day.

having grown up in a small home town like how benncool describes about where he is at, and then now as an adult living in a large metro area, there are many differences. Fireworks being one of them. Fireworks here are done by most of the municipalities but because the 4rth lands on the weekday this year, alot of the shows were either done already over the last weekend or this coming weekend. Which is stupid.

Growing up, come hell or high water, fireworks no matter what were on the fourth, which ever day it landed on.

That's what the guy said in "The Right Stuff"

The segment with that and the Yaller Rose of Texas in it, was one of my favorites

Put together a Mets commemorative coin set into a picture frame. Painted the frame and background to match the Mets colors. All done for the wife, I could care less about baseball. Put the front end on my RS, panel fitment before paint, trying to get it complete before fall. Then I can do it all over again after I paint the panels and pieces. I will probably vacuum the house in a little while. Boring day otherwise.

Nothing; will cook some steaks on the grill later. We saw fireworks at Busch Gardens last night. My wife met me at work at 6:30 and we went to Williamsburg for dinner and the fireworks (it was my Birthday).
I should be hurting like James. This past weekend I cut the grass, trimmed hedges, dug up the front mulch bed, put down weed barrier and 35 bags of stone, pruned the trees in the front yard and took a load of brush to the dump. The wife and kids all helped too. Yesterday I had to change a condenser fan motor on the office AC unit to get it going so I was the first one in and last to leave again.

From my front yard you can see the town's fireworks. The kid and me are going to just hang out at home and watch from here.

    Happy 4th all!

Do you remember the story I told last year?

It was about a guy that had gone to work the day after the 4th. A guy asked him "What happened to you?" His lips was all busted and the top one jacked up. He said that he was doing fireworks with his grandchildren. Well in the course of the Jack Daniels, he was lighting the fireworks with his cigarette. Now comes the fun and smart part. He lit a fire cracker with his cigarette, put the fire cracker in his mouth then threw the cigarette down.

    Sure.

Don't you just love those calls, had one this morning for their refrigerator not cooling, She said she noticed it not working right since Wednesday. Had to tell that I guess one more day won't kill her.
