coldrig, You wont necessarily find the project file on your EBI, unless someone has copied the file to the computer or CARE has been installed and used on the computer to create the program. It wouldnt hurt to do a search for any files with a .pjt extension though. Just to clear up any confusion. The project file is the file used to create the controller datafiles in the first place and is used for making modifications to the control strategies with a program called CARE. The Backup files are copies of the datafiles that have already been downloaded into the controller by CARE, they are the program as it runs in the controller. If you are replacing a controller like for like, then you should be able to get away with just reloading a previously made backup from your EBI. The backup files are in your pointservers\XL5000\server\ folder (from memory) and should have about ten files with your controller name followed by .adl,.raz.rap,.alx, .zpg and others. for instance I have a backup on my laptop with the following: WW_S1PLANTROOM.adl WW_S1PLANTROOM.alx WW_S1PLANTROOM.ipl etc..... The datestamp of the files will be useful to tell how old the backup is. But if you have nothing else then just having the backup is the best you can hope for. A note on the CARE side of things, you could have a copy of CARE and run it, but without a USB dongle youre not going to be doing much with it. The Dongle is the bit that costs.
The file will have an extiension of .pjt If you look at files through windows explorer and see something like "ABC_C004.pjt" that will tell you it is a care backup file and if the original person who saved it used a logical format you can assume that the abc is the site name and the C004 is the controller number, or it may have the name of the system. Look through windows explorer on the front end for any files that look like that. We have ours saved in multiple places, when we access them in windows explorer we see something like this: Name Size Type Date Modified MAIN_C000.PJT 22KB PJT File 3/6/2007 MAIN_C001.PJT 45KB PJT File 1/8/2009 MAIN_C003.PJT 76KB PJT File 1/4/2011 MAIN_CHILLER.PJT 812KB PJT File 9/17/2008

Hi Dan
coldrig, As pointed out previously, even if you have CARE it will do you no good unless you have a backup of the project. Do you have the original project file? Where are you located? I didn't see it in your profile. Dan
Very nice information, We are AC service co.Honeywell don't sell us Care software is there any other source from where to buy Care software.Thanks.
coldrig, Do you have a supervisory computer on this site? SymmetrE, EBI, XBS, XBSi are some of them. Normally (If they are good) the service company will upload the controller datafiles to the supervisor. If this has been done then you should only need to set the controller number and baud rate via an MMI, then you should be able to download the previously backed up datafiles. I should say at this point that it may not be such plain sailing if the controller was configured as 'open Lon' as there will be bindings that require sorting, but that is a bit further down the line.(You will need CARE to sort this out with any ease, and importantly the project file) regards Keith
SKWSPROUL I am thankful to your reply

It will definitely not upload itself. These require Honeywell's Care software to download the file into a new controller. If the old controller still has the configuration in it and nobody has pressed the magic button in the back( dont push it, the program gets wiped) then you can upload the file and load it into another one. My guess is that the controller may not be bad but you need software and Care experience to find out.
Honeywell XCL5010 Question We have one faulty XCL5010 Controller,When we will replace it with new one is there any programming required or it will upload itself.Thanks.
