    Tree Rats

I want to get a paint-ball gun and pop the little buggers. This way I can tell them apart.

It's unbelievable what those squirrels can do physically. I watched one run up my neighbors chimney like Spiderman!

One of my customers tried to keep them out of his tree. He wrapped a 3' tall piece of sheet metal around it. The squirrel just jumped that 3 feet!!

Oh, squirrels don't carry rabies. The little bugger ran across my foot and scratched me while I was shooing it out the house, so I've learned that piece of info from the doctor.
But I got him back. Was pouring a liner down the chimney, since it wasn't lined, and a squirrel came up out the space. It was concreteatized. Ran across the roof and jumped for the tree, fell 5' short and hit the ground running.
OH yeah, them bugger can take a hit and keep goin'. Chase one up a utiliy pole once and act like you are going up too after it. I tried it once, that damn thing jumped from about 25+ foot up, landed on the street and took off like a bullet. It was great

Just a few weeks ago we had one turned into toast and blew out the link. Sat morning I was loading up my tools in the van and there were about 4-5 squirrels running around and when I came back they were gone but there was 1 laying in the street in front of the Camaro still breathing with it's eyes open. I petted it and it kinda growled so I left it when I got home it was up in the grass still getting better then it finally got up enough strength to go off on its own. I don't know if it fell or got shocked but his little a*s was sure dazed and confused. He's lucky none of the neighborhood cats found him.

My cat alone kills 3-4 chipmunks a week that I know of.

I don't know, but I do know that they will easily blow a 400A fuse at 34,500 VAC...

It ain't before my time, thus making my desire to terminate them with extreme prejudice all the stronger.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If I came out the door with a bb gun, the little varmints would probably have on kevlar vests and be laughing at me, giving me the finger.

Had one of those squirrel adventures once. A squirrel used the high voltage lines coming from across the street to the transformer serving my house. One Saturday morning, I heard a loud explosion and the power went out. I went to the transformer and found one on the fuse links hanging down from its connector. Called the power company and they came right out, installed a new fuse and reattached the link.
Sunday morning, that squirrel must have been feeling lucky, I heard another explosion and the power went out. Called the power company and when they got there we found the squirrel, on the ground belly up beneath the transformer.
After that, no more explosions and no more power failures from tree-rats. I also got out my air rifle and pestered the mess out of them. Sitting out in the backyard with a beer and a BB gun is a good way to spend a Saturday.

Why relocate them? There are plenty of rodents in those woods already. The ones you add probably don't survive long. Most humane and effective is a rat trap baited with peanut butter. Its cheaper than a box trap, and you won't get rabies. When it comes to rodents, crunch all you want, they'll make more.

Chipmunks and squirrels have taken over my block. A few weeks ago a squirrel chewed up my neighbor's lp hoses to his gas grill on the deck. They chewed out a large round hole through the aluminum inline pressure regulator. You could see the spring inside it.

Chipmunks bored under the concrete stoop at the front door. The concrete began to sink and crack.

A neighbor loaned us one of those small trap cages about 3 days ago. I've been putting peanuts in it. So far: 6 chipmunks and 5 squirrels relocated to a nearby wooded area.

I never knew squirrels growled until I came out to get the cage. Sounds like a bobcat.

    LOL, that's funny.

That happens here about once a month. It can mess up a lot of stuff. I like it because it makes an a/c shut down and then come right back on(if there's no time delay), kicking it out on high pressure or tripping the breaker. Makes for nice easy service calls.

My wife was just turning on the shower when all of sudden the power went off and an orange glow lit up the house, the windows shook and high voltage hum was everywhere. Damn squirrel just met his maker and almost caused me to meet mine. My wife was afraid to get back in shower. Of course, Windows XP didn't like shutting down like that. But everything's ok.
