    The boiler is a stainless HX so I don't see any real benefit, still would need pumps on the pex side. If it was a cast boiler it might be an idea though.

    I have used indirects as the heat exchanger on many of these less then properly done jobs with great results. Although I have mostly done commercial work. Cost didn't matter. Indirect on a 256 tekmar for reset.

    You can use a heat exchanger to separate the iron side from the pex side of system. If its a benefit.

    That's for sure. On a boiler they are supposed to use an oxygen barrier pipe and none of the tube in the house is. Now everything has to be brass or stainless or it will rust out.

    Gotta love PEX. Can repipe a 3 story house in under an hour Glad they don't alow that stuff here.

    No DIY, local contractor lol. The 011 taco feeds 2 bedroom worth of fin tube with 3/4 pex, boiler short cycles like crazy.

    Start of boiler re pipe.

    I have shown pics of this job before but after two years and him wanting to sell his house he finally called me back.
