Nice thanks for clearing that up... i was wondering how they got the temp low enough for the PVC vent but not condensate in the exhaust. Guess I need to read up on my water heaters

I have electric WH and with the price of gas.... As for venting with B vent, I have seen it before too, but I don't see what could be wrong about it?

The few that are do have drains on them. The whole venting standards for hot water heaters don't make sense to me. I just replaced my own water heater. Its eff is .63 and standard chimney vented. The power vented (PVC) version was .65.

Nice ! I came across a power vented W/H the other day, one of the 45 degree elbows was broken in half and the home owner duct taped it bake together. I need to get a digital camera
i'm no plumber... but this doesn't look right found this gem in a customers home today that's a power vent water heater ran through the original B vent at least whoever did it was smart enough to use high temp rtv on the single wall joints.... is this up to code? much less legal? the worst part is that the water heater is literally 10 feet from an outside wall where it could have been vented properly
