Stay away from Mississippi, Louisiana and Illinois. I have gotten bad readings for California too but don't have first hand knowledge.

I would go to canada because in 5 years when health care is costly and useless in the usa, you will be able to get good health for your kids.

Well... it is a serious sport. Those are the crappiest fans; the ones that get in fights over it.

skilled mechanics are NEVER on the bench
    usually just the opposite!
probably gettin 3000 hours a year!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, I'm a good mechanic w/chiller, boiler and supermarket application skills. I didn't want to go non-union though. In El Paso, there's a whole 3 signatory contractors and all are part of global conglamorates, but none are hiring.
I interviewed with both Trane and Emcor (both are non-union) in El Paso, but their pay sucks there. I had to move to Arizona and was hired by the first contractor with a Jm dispatch request - before I even sat down. If there's a good number of signatory shops, then a good HVACR Tech will never ride the bench. Never take the UA Local's word about who's one the bench. Why? Because they always include their Construction guys.

No bull****: $16/hr is what they offered. I got them up to $22 before I admitted I lost interest in the job around $18.

Central TX is where it's at. SA, Austin, San Marcos, Fredricksburg, New Braunfels, Boerne, Seguin... If you like to move around at work and can stand the heat, this is the place to be. At least here we don't have mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds like they have in Rockport/Corpus.
Plenty of work in the DFW Metroplex region as well.

The DC local is pretty strong, and there's ALWAYS work in DC even when the econonmy is at its worst. Union and Non-union companies are hurting for good techs too.
