I'd be curious as to how many views this event got.
Thanks for posting the link. It was pretty cool.
The press conference is starting. Edit: I guess they were just checking the mikes.
From my airplane mechanic and flying days: If they had done this on a day with higher humidity, he would have fallen slower... yet he would not have broken the sound barrier (Mach 1)... as noted above time and speed did not mix on this jump. Regardless, the guy had a vision and stayed the course until he DID IT! Now if we can get that spirit of 'just do it' back into America (rather than this whiny childish scardy-cat mentality)... we might salvage this wonderful country.

Yeah, his face shield fogged up and there was no audible communication during that period of the descent. I had the impression that there was no alternate plan to determine when to open the parachute, so FB went ahead and pulled the cord. Overall communication was pretty unprofessional. This became readily apparent during descent. Communication protocols and contingencies need to be established. It was pretty cool the way they were able to keep a camera on him during the entire jump.

Nice.. Can't wait for an official confirmation.. Pretty cool that he went over 39km.. I was aiming for 40 lol.. To beat the freefall length record they can put him up to a much lower height and convert that contraption into a wingsuit. The aim was to beat a speed record and the two don't work hand in hand.
That was cool. Thanks for the heads up!
