Just think you can fly the drone to the roof and find the roof hatch and see what king of unit you have before you walk all around the building to find the roof ladder.

drone are cool to fly around on desolated areas or to explore hard to reach spots and are way cheaper than going to flight school.

When you weigh all the hazards associated with Delivery Drones including the destruction/theft of them (and the merchandise they are carrying) from would-be Vandalists out for fun......... it is a very foolish idea and One that might take-off (no pun intended..........) but wont be sustained for long.

Now, if someone can figure out a way to use a Fax Machine to deliver pizza and sandwiches.......then they will really have something there !

I think the problem with drones delivering stuff... Is the govt wants their tax revenue... or they (govt) will figure out some lame excuse to convince the public drones should not be delivering. Polecats in action.

Drones for delivery will do nothing but increase the cost of the merchandise because they are going to be the target of Kids BB Guns / CO2 powered guns / small to large caliber Guns , stones, rocks, nets to trap them , and other imaginable sources of vandalism. They will bring harm to the general public by carousing out of control and hitting pedestrians and motorists and/or causing property damage to the intended Consumer .

This will lend to the problems of America already being out of control concerning social issues .

What will the world be like, with these large plastic mosquitoes hovering everywhere around us?

Will FedEx develop a new form of air mail? Will drones be armed?

Do folks really believe the simple stuff the media says is the whole story... talk about shallow minds... Guy is probably so stupid he thinks everyone in Texas is the enemy...
Might take a HARD look at how many folks have left California and moved to Texas... There has to be a reason... care to share it with us... that is if you can figure it out.

What you are not aware of: The day after 911: literally hundreds of special forces folks headed to Afghanistan. Over the next 6 mos... they took out over 100,000 (yes, over one hundred thousand) terrorists in the mountains of NE Afghanistan. And who was the president then? Yeah, we know.

How many terrorists has BHO taken out? Just one high profile one... who BTW was loosing his power long before BHO was elected.

And for that matter, how many foreign ambassadors have been killed under Bush and how many under BHO?
    Hint: Last September...

I would suggest watching what happens in Egypt in the next few days.

a couple drones over that region would be handy at this point

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
    - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
    - G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
    3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

I believe he was a Texan

“There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans,” Obama said in August 2007. “They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf will not act, we will.”

    Not a Texan

    You present a good paradox...

If a country is weak... they will be taken advantage of by others... Probably conquered. However if they are strong... the citizens need to beware.
OTOH: some of the worst civil rights abuse is in small countries... Go figure.

IMO (stress GA's opinion); whether a countries citizens are free depends on how much the citizens love freedom. If it is important enough to stand firm with govt over said freedom; folks will be free!
In the USA... too many folks take it for granted. I just hope they learn to take it more seriously before its too late.

Personally... I would rather worry about our govt than an invading foreign force... ASSUMING (yeah, bad thing to do) the Constitution can be upheld in the courts. If SCOTUS goes liberal (in the sense of rubber-stamping anything that comes out of POTUS mouth)... well we are in for a rocky road. The faith I have in the USA is based on the fierce independence of the citizens. There are WAAAY too many folks who will not give this country away without a fight... Just hope it is not too late... Really do hope so...

It is a dog-eat-dog world when it comes to countries trying to control other countries... no easy way to assert one-self other than to have the bigger stick.

Now It seems to me if the USA wants to be SAFE... we need a govt with a STRONG attitude about "Dont mess with America'...

Cutting edge technology is great as long we are the only ones to use it. But as we all know, that doesn’t last forever.
