I bought a hydraswage years ago and it has paid for itself time and again. with that and a ratchet tubing bender I replaced a few reversing valves with fewer joints and looked better too. I want to at least LOOK like I know what I am doing even if I don't

I'd wait another month or so and track down a Hilmor compact tubing expander when they become available.

    Mark,

Do you also radius bend your copper? If so what do you use to do so?

That looks like the old screwdriver swedge style.

I haven't used a coupling for anything under 1 3/8 copper in years.

Don't know about the schaders, but that pic of the coupling is ugly. What are some people thinking, or should I say not thinking. I think my son would know how to do that right and he's twelve.

Good lord, I haven't seen one that bad in awhile.

I remember finding out that goodman put schraders on their coils.
I never had time to look when I was roughing ghetto, we were doing 12 coils a day.
It was a big "holy......crap...." moment.

At least you were able to get them out, usually when I find them in that condition they stuck really hard.

So quick it was to much trouble to use a coupling or pull the schraders.
