Hey Dice and Robin, We had a turkey that I shot for Thanksgiving and it was tender and delicious. No Dice I didn't have to shoot it off somebodies front porch.

I hear Opossum stew is right tasty too. Maybe some coon guts with gravey or squirrel liver as a side.
Wasn't the Beverly Hillbillies based on a family from Georgia??

I would need the shot gun. I have friends who use bow`s. They are fanatical about it and practice all the time.

Yes you are correct Bah hhhahhhh Yankee!.
Yes and I'm a Yankee and I'm embarassed.

Ok The preferred way in my locale ( NW NJ ) to hunt
turkeys is with bow and arrow. Blasting them with buckshot
    is stupid.
Hitting one with a .22 in the head is the trick.
But unfortunately the only ones who can do that are
Southern boys, the ones defending us right now.
    Thank God for them.

Ft. Stewart home of the occupying Army in Iraq has some of the finest Wild Turkeys in the world.

Up around Baltimore MD, road kill is usually at the gas stations.

They actually taste better, just a little tougher. That's an opinion of course. Wild turkeys have a bit more of a gamey taste which to me gives them more flavor.

there are small herds of wild turkeys

running around here, big motha's too. Some idiot went out with his shotgun and tried to shoot one, the cops came and he ran. Not really a good idea to hunt in resi neighborhoods ya know.
